BARNABY WOODS
A series of walls, steps and terraces enhance this project's retaining system to address a significant slope and create spaces for lush garden beds and colorful pollinator attracting plants and flowers. Water is a theme, with water features providing sound and life to all three levels of this garden. There are ample individual seating areas for contemplation as well as entertaining for larger groups. A green roof adds to the stormwater mitigation and provides food and habitat for birds.

This long narrow property was transformed into a series of garden rooms that provide spaces for dining, entertaining and relaxing, each denoted by its own style of paving. The garden is seamlessly integrated with the house for maximum indoor/outdoor enjoyment, including french doors from the den which open into the dining terrace. A burbling fountain in one terrace provides respite and refreshment for birds and further creates a sense of retreat.
